Celebrating the coming of Spring*, I am changing my stage name from the exotic and fun/hard-to-pronounce “Spungfungler” to the more practical and personal and exotic and fun/hard-to-pronounce “Shum”.

Shum is pronounced like “shoom”, but with a short ‘oo’-sound in the middle. If you speak Danish, pronounce it the way it reads in Danish, with a normal ‘u’ sound.

Keep calm and carry on.

*) this has nothing to do with the coming of Spring

This year's SAG-show premiere party was insane. I and my new DJ homeboy Børsen were invited to play, and after many, many, many hours of preparation we probably played the best set of my career to date.

I've cut a good part of the set into pieces for you to enjoy. If you're having a party and no one is dj'ing, put some of these on. My brother once put my Goes Clubbing mixtape on at a party and told everyone he was dj'ing. Most of them believed him. Anyway;

At this point, a few guys on trombones, trumpets and march drums took over and played a crazily energetic medley of Crazy In Love (the Beyoncé & Jay-Z track), Calabria and Pon De Floor, ending on the theme of the Trentemøller remix of Röyksopp's What Else Is There, Sankt Annæ Gymnasium's all-time favourite party anthem. Unfortunately, as far as I know no one ended up recording this live bit, so you'll have to take me at my word.

And then we took over. If you're only going to listen to one thing on this page, let it be this next one.

Grew tired of my old unpersonal logo and crappy website. So I drew a new logo and threw together a new website using my hands and the same CMS underlying another one of my projects.

Posts on this new site will be in English, as I plan to post stuff here that might be just as uninteresting to people that do not speak my mother tongue. So there. Deal with it.

I plan to update this site more frequently than I did the old one. You can get new updates automatically by subscribing to this blog as a podcast in iTunes (getting you the audio part of my posts), or, if you know what a feed reader is, subscribing to my RSS feed.

Back in May, Artsnaik and I had the pleasure of playing a two-hour set for Christianshavn Gymnasium. The setting was the yearly student revue, and the energy level of the crowd was high from the start.

As the last show of the huge annual entirely student-made musical SAG-show comes to an end, the 400+-person cast and crew celebrate with one of the best parties of the year at Sankt Annæ Gymnasium.

Artsnaik and I were asked if we could dj this party, and as respectively current and former Sankt Annæ Gymnasium students, we took the job very seriously. The result is what was probably the best gig we've played to date. Spirits were high, the sound system was great and people were ecstatic the whole evening.

Enjoy the set. Because of the occasion, we of course also played tracks from this and previous years' SAG-shows. We even made a few remixes of these in advance. You can recognize them on their Danish lyrics and the fact that you've probably never heard them before.
